Queensland young water professionals pioneer an inclusive mentoring program

The Queensland Young Water Professionals (YWP) Committee launched its 2020 Mentoring Program last month, with 35 pairs spread across Queensland from varying areas of the water sector.

During the launch event, attendees heard from Ian Cameron and Will Speirs about their experience in mentoring partnerships and insights into what makes for a successful mentoring relationship.

The pivot to an online mentoring platform in response to COVID-19 restrictions didn't slow the energy of the event with attendees participating in a lively Q&A session before breaking away to meet up with their pre-matched partner.

For the first time this year, the committee is also running a Student Mentoring stream, with a focus on helping students transition from university to industry.

As always, we are extremely grateful to all the mentors who volunteered for the program and look forward to bringing you all some success stories of the partnerships later in the year.
